Strip the bed, remove everything stored underneath it and decide which parts are leaving. A mattress, box spring, frame, headboard and adjustable base can each require a different carry plan.
Separate the bed into parts
Bag bedding you are keeping and move it outside the removal zone. Photograph the assembled frame before disassembly. Place hardware for any retained parts in a labeled bag; do not mix it into the removal pile.
Disclose condition before pickup
Tell the provider about tears, moisture, strong odors, pests or contamination before the appointment. That information affects whether the item can be handled and what precautions are required.
Check building and city rules
Local curb programs often require mattresses and upholstered items to be wrapped. A private inside-removal appointment may have different preparation instructions, so confirm what applies instead of assuming the curb rule is the service rule.
